You will build the systems our agents run on: the integrations to phone, diary, accounting and practice software, the approval and audit layers that make them safe, and the tooling that lets a small team run many of them well.
Responsibilities
- Design and build integrations with the systems small businesses actually use, through official APIs where they exist and carefully where they do not.
- Build the approval, logging and permissions layer that sits between an agent and anything irreversible.
- Own reliability: monitoring, alerting and the daily checks that follow a go-live.
- Work with the delivery team to turn a scoped job into a running agent inside ten working days.
- Improve the platform so each new agent takes less effort than the last.
- Review code, mentor, and hold the bar on security and data handling.
What we are looking for
- Five or more years building production backend systems in Node.js and Python.
- Deep experience with third-party API integration, webhooks, queues and the failure modes that come with them.
- A security-minded approach to credentials, PII and tenancy; GDPR is part of the job.
- Experience running systems in production with real customers and real consequences.
- Clear communication with people who do not write code.
Helpful, not required
- Experience with LLM APIs, tool use and evaluation.
- Telephony or messaging platform experience (Twilio or similar, WhatsApp Business API).
- Knowledge of UK accounting, practice management or booking software.
How we hire
- A short call with a founder to talk about the role and what you have built.
- A practical exercise close to the real work, paid for your time, with a follow-up conversation about it.
- A conversation with the people you would work with most.
- An offer within a week of the last conversation. We tell you either way.
